local companies with a view to setting up a cross promotion with you.

I'm thinking if I went to a baby boutique (for example) what could (or should) I realistically offer that'd make them open to my approach?

Would something as simple as taking product photos for them work, or offering their staff discounted sittings??

Although, I've mentioned the baby market I'm sure that this could be rolled out into many other places too

you might want to try offering large wall prints for them to display. it pretties up their joint and gives you an outlet... thats assuming you already have images in your book that appeal to that clientele.

I dont understand how this would work, what is the incentive to buy. Is it just advertising you are after? Who is getting what and why?

I have seen a few baby boutiques and photographers pair up and do vouchers with purchase, limited numbers, the boutique gives photo voucher with purchase and the photo give boutique voucher with purchase.

The other promotion i have seen is the photographer sets up in the boutique and give a free sitting with purchase, and you but the prints.

Both ideas have incentive to but, spreads your name, and both sides are getting something.
