Here's how my stuff breaks down
Shooting time: $25-50/hour Editing Time: $50/hour Creative Fee: Set your own Equipment Fees: $150 (in my case, this is 1% of the total cost of all the equipment I use) Rentals: Cost + 25% Expandable materials (batteries, etc): Cost + 25% Travel: Cost +25% Deliverables: Materials (printing, etc): Cost + 25% Services (scanning, etc): Cost + 25% Prep and personal (Stuff that I do to ready deliverables, prepare, organize, etc that IS NOT editing): (materials+Services cost) / 2, + $25/hour of my time. Rights and Licensing: Variable A lot of this you end up giving as an estimate, but you should be conservative (estimate higher than likely).

Thanks, maxharvard. Since it will probably take me a few weeks to get shots in all the locations around town in good light, invoices are probably the best solution.
Thanks for the info, OsmosisStudios. It's always helpful to see how someone else breaks down their time.

I charge by the day (or half day) plus license fees and expenses.
That is how I would charge for this job.
