Default Met with the art gallery director today - BIG PRICE CHANGE!

Met with the gallery director today. Things went better than I had hoped. She loved my work, but................it needs work

She kindly went into showing me the flaws in my framing. There were lots of them. I was mortified. Not because she pointed them out but because I did not see them. I was so embarrassed. We talked for the better part of an hour about the details of pricing and so on. She also told me she had some rather well to do clients that were looking for pieces for their personal collection and said they might be interested in these. There was no doubt she liked them.

I was asked to fix the issues with the framing and bring them back on Tuesday. Towards the end she asked me for the things I had gathered up to bring with. When she said Bio I realized I forgot all of that information at home. I must have looked like a deer in the headlights. This did not kill the interview, so she must have really liked my work. I like that she took me under her wing a bit and taught me some things to help me produce a higher caliber piece for her. This is something I am absolutely certain larger galleries would not ever do. Any more help and she would be billing me.

Anyway got all the pieces cleaned, checked, and double checked. Going to email (per her request) my bio and artists statement.

In closing we negotiated a price in detail. Instead of selling my work for $125 per piece they will sell for $225 in the gallery and then she gets her cut of 40%

Adjustments for minor frame flaws will be split.

Congrats.
I was looking for the software thread but can't find it so I'll ask you here.
You say you use Artizen HDR, I was wondering, do you import a single picture and run the effects or use 3 bracketed images? And what "mode" do you use, grunge RAW looks ok or default - just wondering which you use?

Most of my work is done in Photomatix Pro; Artizen I am still learning. I make a bracketed group from a single image in LR3 and no I am not shooting RAW.

The preset is one that I came to after several hours of playing with it. I started on the grudge setting.

What kind of framing errors? This is not specified in your post and it is the most interesting bit of info to someone like me who is not aware.

Oh I missed a few finger prints, there was a piece of hair in one, and the inside edge of the mat somehow got messed up on one. All errors any rookie to framing can make and all easily correctable.
