I'm very new to selling my work, A client chosen 5 photos and want the rights to these photos for their use. I would like the sale but do not want to give up the rights. What are my options. My only idea so far is to permanently watermark my name in the lower corner of each shot. I also have not research prices for such sales. thanks for ay advice.

As a photographer you should always keep the copyright. What you give the client is a license. The license can take a number of forms and include, or exclude, any number of things. That's what you negotiate with the client. It will depend on what kind of assignment and client this is.
I'll save Jim the keystrokes by including this link: Amazon.com: Best Business Practices for Photographers, Second Edition (9781435454293): John Harrington: Books. Buy and read that ASAP. |
