Default Shutterbug Storefron

I have used Shutterbug Storefront since September 2008 and have sold a few thousand dollars off of it. I let them process the gifts and fulfill the photos myself.

I would say that I am about 85% satisfied with them. Their customer service is fantastic, however.

It would take a lot to get me to change...

I would add Zazzle | Custom T-Shirts, Posters, Art and more... as well as stock agencies. Selling images is not that easy, but there is always a buyer for your phoro... you just have to find him.

This is not meant as an endorsement for a certain website or even to say that somewhere is worth using. It is also not a list of stock photo agencies. Those lists exist everywhere.

With that in mind, let's move onto the list.

Again, if you know of anywhere that should be on the list please let me know somehow and it will be added.

Default fotki.com

I have to say I love fotki.com. It is similar to smugmug in that you can sell your prints and keep 85% over printing costs but you only have to pay $27 a year to do this and the printing costs are less. It isn't quite as slick a site and is sort of between smugmug and flickr. I particularly love using the site for the ability to control folders and albums and password protect - or not - and you can set each album to have different settings - I take school photos and password protect the albums and set them up so that parents can download originals - or buy their own prints for the regular 9 cents/4x6 but I also can set albums for paying clients to restrict ability to download and can choose what size/resolution to have it shown at and then I can set prices at anything I want for the prints. I doubt it would be very useful for random sales but if you have clients it is a no fuss no muss deal that is cheaper than smugmug with lots of flexibility. It would also work well if you had your own site to drive traffic toward it. I use mozilla firefox as browser and added their fireFTP add-on to the browser and it is super easy to just ftp up an album's worth of full res photos.

Default Qoop

I just wanted to give a heads up about qoop.com. I found them through Flickr, so I expected quality. Their system for organizing photos is not very good (not easy to have different galleries). But I set it up anyway. I sold a print last week, and discovered that I have no way of finding out which print was purchased! I am looking into other options now, but need to wait until the cashout threshold of $50 is reached.

It has potential, but they haven't reached professional standards, in my opinion.

Edited to add: I got a reply back to my query that they are in fact adding in the option to see which print was purchased. I'm not sure when Qoop was started (researching that now) but I think they might be fairly new. Don't write them off without checking them out first!

I just saw some of your photos. They are fabulous. I am inspired because of the local venues that are available to me here in my hometown. I have taken photographs for 35 years, mostly of friends, family and kids events but on July 11 I had to close my coffeeshop of 10 years and I have been floundering for two weeks (in jammies all day/stalking my kids), but now, my town/county is getting my full attention! Look out...there is so much out there people want to see...here I come. Thanks for all your posts too. I had no idea about any of these sites and their hosting so I can have customers just go there to shop! This is going to be almost as much fun as my deli/bakery!!! THANK YOU!

Default On-line ordering sites

Hey Gang!!! I'm interested in setting up 0n-line ordering for clients. I've really been looking at 3 sites:
SmugMug Photo & Video Sharing. You look better here.
Pictage | Quick Tour - Online Proofing and Web Store
Zenfolio | hosting service for photo galleries | a place to learn and enjoy photography

Anyone have any thoughts as to one being better than the others???? Any other suggestions for sites???

Any suggestions/direction you can provide will help!

Thanks,
gretchen

Default Which site offers Check Payment in India?

I have gone through the list of sites. I always wanted to submit images & earn something from them. I would like to know how may sites offer a check payment system in India? Most of the sites are not from India. Is there any which offers check payment in India? Any help will be appreciated.
