Hi Folks
I am new on her but would like to give a mention to a UK company http://www.fotolibra.com
They allow you to add images to their site for sale also they email you picture calls on a very regular basis. The picture calls come from publishers from all over the world so there is something for everyone.
I have submitted to around 20 picture calls and sold 2 images so far.
Payment was £67 for the first (this was published in the book Lore of the land)
I have also recieved another payment from them £37 because they are going to produce the book in paperback.
The other image was for a greetings card company £43.
The images where of a murder memorial stone and a swan in flight.

Dont know if it is a good price but what a boost to the ego for an amature
Regards Terry

I have a site on imagekind and haven't had much luck... I do have a question about them don't know if anyone has the answer, but looking at the print sizes for sale on imagekind they're not the usual ones... 6.7' x 10' for example?? Is that b/c they're going off the exact ratio of the original file? I'd imagine some people would be scared off buying if they don't see the usual sizes and didn't know where to shop for frames for these odd ones...

I really like the Picture Call approach.

Anyone know of the Agencies who do Picture Calls?

Thanks!

Thumbs up Check out Shutterpoint.com

Hi Guys,

I registered with http://www.shutterpoint.com about a year or so ago and have sold 2 photos. Costs about US$50 a year for 100 meg of space on their site. Apart from selling & buying stock pix you get some good feedback from other Photographers involved on the site.
Might be worth a look.

Default earning with photography

I'm new to this forum but just wanted to share that I've been selling on istock.com for about 2 years and I would highly recommend them. They are owned by Getty Images, a giant in the stock photography world. I've just started my first website http://www.naturalimagesbyscalder on zenfolio. They are quite helpful and the process is fairly painless for a person like me without much computer knowledge. The orders are fulfilled by MPix, which is a division of Millers Lab. My biggest problem is search engine optimization. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

Default List of sites reviewed.

Scalder just mentioned Mpix and I know that they are a highly regarded printer of choice for many on DPS. I have never used any online print ordering service, but will be trying Mpix.com soon. Because of their reputation, I am considering zenfolio.com because that is who does printing if people buy through your site.

Additionally, here is a link to a website that has been helpful to me in many different areas. It is called toptenreviews.com and the link I am inserting gives a side-by-side comparison of a number of photo sharing/selling sites. Some are free.

I have used Mpix several times and the prints come out great. My favorite is metallic prints with a lustre coating, gives it sort of a pearl shine. I have also used smugmug off and on for years and I did use zenfolio for one year, but I am looking for something more like photoshelter or foliolink and Photium. It's between Photium and Photoshelter right now. Also giving zenfolio a try once more, sigh, someone needs to come up with the ultimate photographers website hosting at a cheap rate. lol.

Photographizen:

I signed up for zenfolio and spent a long time setting it up and adding photos before I saw something that I had overlooked: you can only make a profit on the photos you sell throught them if you pay for a pro account. I am sorry, but I am far from pro; I just wanted to have a slick place to display some of my best stuff IN CASE i happen to have something people want to buy (like if I shoot a sporting event or a play that families and kids are involved with). It is silly for me to spend $100 bucks when the odds are, I will not sell any photos. I am not going to spend 40 bucks and let them make any of the profit. I was not happy that I overlooked that. I like the site, not that part. I can set my own prices and make a profit for free with dotphoto.com. It is not nearly as slick a site, but...
