iStock Photo Kind spooked me.
After the third failed attempt to be accepted I got to thinking, hey, they now have 9 Images of my best work that I uploaded.
After that I stopped uploading my images to them, I felt they where taking them and who knows where they went from there.
I figure if I ever see one of my images in an ad etc, I'll be contacting my lawyer...

You really have to be careful when dealing with these sites.

I'm trying to compare sites, and just made this list in a google doc to have all the info in one place... maybe this is helpful for others? if you see something that is wrong let me know, I was browsing the sites fast! some quotes are from this thread, others are from the websites for each.

I didn't compare all mentioned, just the ones I've been looking at (which seem to be the most common). I snagged my ID at most of them, gonna try redbubble and zazzle, and poke a little bit in the ones I only have 14 day trials for.... (I signed up for all but exposuremanager, as I didn't want to give my credit card and forget to cancel before my vacation)

Completely agree with you. Our hardwork goes to these dogs which is unacceptable.

I just sold that image for $500. If they had accepted it, they would have sold it for far less. Not really sure I want to deal with microstock companies anymore.

Could you if it is not secret give us link so we can see your photo (at least thumbnail), and where did you sell your photo?

I can't believe that they rejected your photo, and then you sold it for 500$.

They also rejected all my 10 photos I have submitted to Shutterstock for the same reason: "Limited or no commercial value".

I get 5-6 hits a day from google searches on that photo, which is probably where the ad agency found the image. I don't know all the specifics, but the image is going to be used in tobacco ads in multiple major magazines.

Last time I tried Shutterstock, they approve 4 out of 10. I've been approved for Istock, but not sure if I want to give them anything. Some of my images are pretty unique, and getting less than a dollar a photo for them might be a bit too low.

I might try Getty Images...they refered me to that site to determine pricing (I had no idea).

You understand that Getty purchased iStock several months ago, and so any submission to Getty will have the OPTION to be sold on iStock.
