Default Coffee Table Books

Hello everyone, anyone out there have any experience with coffee table books? I have a couple concepts that I think will market well in my area. From my initial research, it is not a small investment and may be cheaper to self publish. Is a (possible) lower cost of self publishing worth the extra work and time?

Check out blurb, they have the ability to offer your book for sale on their site, you set the price and get paid the difference between the print price and sale price and the book is shipped straight to the customer. They also have a facebook and website marketing tool to show a prieview of your book.

You would not have to shell out for printing or worry about suppliers shipping etc.

Have you considdered Ebooks? some one posted recently that they had done an ebook and had it for sale on itunes, try searching for it to see the post.

Most places will do a volume discount, but i would look at talking to a local commercial printer as well to get some quotes, it will be a little pricey though.

Thanks for the advice! Ebooks are something I that I had considered. But is a real possibility vastly expanding one's market there.
