Default Resumes are dead, your Bio is king

Interesting article found on how as a creative professional your Bio page is (in their opinion) more important than your Resume. Interesting read.
I think it touches on many points lots of people have said on this site about your "About Me" or "Bio" page on your website.

I've certainly found that changing from a standard CV/Resume to a targetted CV has given much better results. (features related points only, bullet point form, one page).

I think everyone needs to be careful these days, at my old work every application with obvious typos or txt spk went straight in the bin - for some reason people seem to think that it is acceptable?!? - second thing I did was slap the email address into facebook. I even do that now with clients, just to get a feel of who they are.

Which part? Creative or Professional? Because you could make an argument for both!

I wouldnt necessarily say that your bio is more important, or that resumes are dead, but that your work now speaks more about how good you are than a resume/CV ever will, and that creative companies are looking more at WHO they're hiring, and not WHAT credentials.

For a fun look, the nice guys over at Penny Arcade have posted videos as part of their web content. Several are focused on the hiring of a new staffer for the small company, and how rigorous the process is. Mike Krahulik even mentions how they're not so much hiring another employee as they are hiring a friend, and thats why that person's personality is important and why theyre so strict about it.

Just had a job interview and the supervisor was more interested in my bio than resume.
He wanted to know what I was doing now instead of relying on past achievements. And of course, I'm simply amazing!
