Ok, so I came across a really cool piece in my local area from another photographer. I found it in a bakery. It's basically a newsletter piece about the photographer. It has testimonials, featured photo sessions, bio, tips on what to wear, how to display your photos, some specials, etc... It also has a spotlight spread of different photos they took. It's a really cool idea. It's (2) 11x17 sheets folded and stapled in half. So it ends up being 8 pages (4 pages front and back).
I'm really debating doing this. I thought this could be something cool to put in welcome packets or even take to a bridal show if I ever do one. But, i'd like to get them out around town so people can grab them. Anyway, the design is no problem since I've been a graphic designer for the last 10 years. I'm trying to justify the cost. A local printer quoted me the price of $225 for 100 newsletters printed in full color. What do you all think? Worth spending that amount? I know it's hard without seeing the piece, but I hope I somewhat explained it well enough. |

I'm not really doing any sort of marketing or anything at the moment, but just listening to the Sarah Petty web things she does, the one in this thread talks about Pricing for Profit and she recommends a nice press printed piece that would cost about $50 for 25 and it may work better for what you're wanting to do, it would definitely look more professional. In my opinion anyway...

I just meant, having something like this: Press Printed Greeting Cards | WHCC Would just look nicer than an 8x10 4page newsletter type piece. And maybe they just shouldn't be compared at all...like I said before, I'm not even to that point at all yet. I didn't mean you couldn't make a killer newsletter piece, having the type of experience you have I'm sure it would be stunning
