I haven't used Pictage, but on Zenfolio you can create whatever URL you want for each gallery, so as long as the name is unique, it can be as short as you like. You can also give out an access code for the gallery instead of a URL. Check them out, they have a free trial. If you decide to go with them, you can save a few bucks with my referral code: DUQ-C5J-MB8

Smugmug has the short URL that you can use for your photos. It becomes: http://smu.gs/kM9OVP From the share button, there's the "Shorten This Link".

I have been using Zenfolio as well. It is an easy platform to use. I had a halfway decent site up in two days. If you want to look at an example... RobertElkoPhotography

Im leaning alot toward smugmug, just because it seems simpler and cleaner.

If you can live with the canned setup, SmugMug is not bad. But if you want to do *ANY* customization, you'd better be fluent in CSS and java-script programming - a customized site quickly becomes a programmatic house of cards... I'm about to go back to Zenfolio when my current SmugMug subscription ends. I also prefer the Mpix lab and lower sales commissions from Zenfolio.
