The one good thing here might be protections against search sites. In general I'm averse to any expansions of copyright protections and lumping of intellectual property under a single umbrella. Right now the balance is decidedly not in favor of either the small artist or the end users of content -- and entirely about corporate power grabs.

they do deserve all rights to the picture, if they shoot or bought it either ways. So, they can claim it

Yeah, this is going nowhere.

This bill looks like it's going after the torrent sites of the world, which is a waste of time. You take down one, and 5 more spring up in its place. You think music piracy died with Napster? This looks like it adds the ability for the companies (i.e. SONY and VIACOM) to go after ISPs and search engines that allow illegal activity.

Copyright law and protections in this country have gotten way out of hand. Its inhibiting our technology and destroying more creativity than its protecting. People are sick of it, and the last thing we need is another piece of garbage legislature that limits people's rights and infinges on their privacy.
