I've kinda come to a point where it feels like I need to establish a 'real' website or just stop trying to make anything happen. I want something easy to maintain and also something affordable.
I am considering either the upgraded wordpress stuff or zenfolio/smugmug. does anyone gave any suggestions as to what might be better (aka taken more seriously)?

I have used SmugMug in the past, and it has very similar functionality to Zenfolio. I left SmugMug because they had too frequent downtimes, planned and unplanned, during the time I was with them. I have not used Wordpress, but have heard that it is pretty easy to use if you're looking for a blog-style site.

here's answers to your questions
1) What's your budget for this? I want to keep it pretty low, try to stay under $150 2) What's your ability level with web? I am very proficient with using the web lol, not so much on the coding, html, css type stuff. 3) What's your available time to not only set this up, but maintain it? Initial set up I can take as long as needed but I don't want to have to spend hours every night maintaining. I do need to be able to upload pictures with out it taking an act of congress though. ![]() 4) What are you trying to make happen? Well I would like to eventually turn it into a business. At the moment my goal is to just look somewhat professional and be able to hand out a card with a real website and contact info on it, rather than a flickr page. thank you funcrunch for the info

Though I am looking to change to Photobiz soon, I've been using Weebly for a while now and it's served me well (and it's a lot less expensive than Photobiz). Very simple drag and drop. It's also very SEO friendly because it's HTML rather than flash. Photobiz is great but I do believe you have to purchase an additional mirror HTML site for SEO. Those who use it, please correct me if I'm wrong!

Sure can I have Flash, Mirrored HTML, and a mirrored iPAD/iPhone compatible version too. ![]() I removed the Splash page, and have my default set to the Flash version. If they don't have a Flashplayer installed, they are automatically re-directed to the HTML version.

Wordpress no question
![]() Go to Godaddy.com buy a domain, opt for the hosting as well. Login, look for "fantastico" (assuming thats the collection they use). Read down the list, click "wordpress", click "install new", open site, type password. Done. I used to write all the code by hand making custom sites. Now I use wordpress as a basis everytime. Then write or mod a theme for it :P
