Hi everyone!
It's been a while... I'm not sure whether this really belongs here, but...I'm currently doing some market research as I'm about to get a bit more serious with my photography business. I'll be starting part time work (as opposed to full time) in June/July to devote more time to my business. I'm looking for people to complete a quick questionnaire. In return I'll give you a discounted shoot and/or discounted images. Any input and insights would be GREATLY appreciated. If you're able to help me out please PM me on here or e-mail me at alexis[at]peapodphoto[dot]com Once again, ANY insights are GREATLY appreciated. THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU.

the best form of market research is to contact the Statistics department of the Australian Government and ask.
Eg. lets say you are spe******ing in Newborns ask for age/birth rates in your city average age, number of children... as much as they can give you which suburb has the highest birth rate? whch ethnic group? all your branding and everything you do should be taylored to that "type" of people Statistics NZ only charges around $150+GST to hand over taylored information. Theres also quite alot they will do for free, which you can find online. Asking for market research from people around the world won;t give you an accurate reflection of the market you are in.

What sort of information did you need?
Are you looking at what products, services, pricing etc? If you are you really just need to look in your area, i am not sure there is realy any place you can go for the info, the abs doesnt really have anything helpful, and i dont think a survey will help too much. I find that reading through forums and blogs by your target audience will give you more information than surveys and statistice. I found theknot.com and the aussie one to be the best for wedding research, those brides always seem to be on top of the trends, and willing to answer questions. Polka dot bride is also a top read, you will get lots of info there. Try bub hub and the huggies board for maternity and baby. I found that the american sites are worth more of my time as teh trand will filter through to australia, so by the time i have found out about them and sorted out to offer them they are just filtering into australia, so i can be one of teh first to offer them. Sorry if that all sounds convoluted but i hope you get the picture. HTH |
