Welcome to DPS! The short answer is NO. You NEVER need a release to sell a photograph. The buyer on the other hand may need a release depending on what they intend to use the photo for. In your case, this would be considered fine art photography. As long as the photos were taken in a public place/event and the event has no rules regarding photography you're good to go. Be ready to get different opinions on this, because others will disagree! If you search the forum, there are many threads on the subject of model/property releases. Another good explanation can be found on Dan Heller's site. Of course, the best answer is to ALWAYS get a release because you never know how a photograph may be used.

If you're selling the posters as "art" then you're in the clear as long as the images were taken in a public place.
