Who doesn't! Have you thought about doing photo restorations? Admittedly, it will take some level of editing abilities, but it can be a nice way to earn extra money during any slow off season period. You will need a good scanner, or have a lab that does high resolution scans for you. My lab charges me $12.00 to do a high rez scan on larger prints. For smaller prints, most better home scanners should suffice. Below is an example of one I just did. The subject, a lovely bride on her wedding day in May of 1940. Sadly, she just past away and her daughter wanted it restored. After getting the high rez scan back from my lab I spent a little time cleaning it up and re-sizing it to a standard 11 x 14 size. The customer wanted a copy on photo rag watercolor paper (giclees) done in a warm black and white to somewhat match the period of the piece.

Yes I do Marcus. (I wouldn't have been able to do it if I didn't have the original scan) This was one of the easier restorations I've done..some in the past were near basket cases. It mostly needed the brightness bumped up, some small spots fixed, a few minor kinks in the paper, and some fingerprints on it from being handled. It was a relatively straight forward fix, and well worth the effort. The original is a large TIFF around 45-50 meg...I'd have to convert it down to a small JPEG for posting here if you really would like to see it

Nice work. Here's the loaded question though.

Can you reproduce and sell that © protected photo legally?

The copyright question is an interesting question, (good work BTW), and it would be nice to know what the answer is. Possibly there's no one left after 60 years who cares but technically, if photography copyright is like other copyright laws then, I think normally it lasts till the photographers death plus a number of years (something like 70 years)?

Thank you Michelle. The customer was thrilled with the results. The copy you see here doesn't even do it justice...the lab did a beautiful job of printing it
