Default Where Photography and Cinematography meet. Also- US photog schools?

Apologies if a similar thread exists- I am new and did my best to search first.

First I am wondering how many of you consider yourselves cinematographers as well, and how this affects your views of photography and pursuit of a trade. Where did you start? How did you transition? In my experience the two worlds, academically at least, are very much separate. Seems ridiculous to me, but I have found very little overlap as far as resources.

Secondly, can we discuss or can someone point me to an existing thread about photography schools in the US? I have a BA in Film Studies but I feel I really need technical training in photography, and do better in school than trying to learn it on my own. Thanks for the help!

Are you looking for a degree program or just some classes?
