How to promote...

Hi,

I have recently set up a gallery on photobox to try and sell some photography, and I've also got a Facebook page promoting promo shoots/ live event photography. The thing is how best to promote this?

Through my Facebook page, this is really just getting out to people I know, and the photobox gallery I am just not sure how to get out there?

Anyone have any success with this? Any suggestions?

For event stuff, approach the local event management companies and venues - theatres, halls, areans (whatever those places are that hold gigs, you know like the NEC, NIA, O2 arena etc)

I have seen competitioons get quite a few new followers on twitter and facebook, and those people are potential customers, pretty much you get an entry for a like, follow, comment and newsletter sign up.

I would suggest some traditional methods like leaflets and postcards too and leave them at places your customers will go, like the dress shop for wedding photographers etc.

Quick question, do you tag the people in your photographs on facebook? You should be, the peoples friends see the photo they were tagged in, people are pretty nosy and many will look at the photo and then through the rest of your shots.
