Default Photo booth

Last night our group, the Olympic Photo Group, set up a studio/photo booth at the Kingstongirl 80's prom. We used a green backdrop so that we could drop the background and
layer the images onto templets we built. We sold 4 x 6's on the spot.......easy money.

I see one thumbnail but it doesn't open up for me. Just a small black box where a picture is suppose to be.

How much did you sell the prints for?

I know you said "easy money", but there are only 55 photo booth photos. IF you sold them for $10/photo (I'm guessing less...probably closer to $5), you only made $550. And I'm guessing you had more than one photographer there.

For comparison, a standard automated photo booth usually rents for about $1200 for four hours, and only requires one person to deliver and operate.

With my photo booth company, I found the pay-per-print method to bomb terribly. On an average of 125 prints a night (when having the hosts pay instead of guests), I'd have to sell each print for $8-10 to make up for my standard rate. And when the guests pay, I do far less photo strips (less than half)...and that's at $3/strip.

And if you do more photos, the guests have more fun. If they have fun, you get repeat business (from corporate events and post proms) and lots of referals.

Well it sounds like a fun idea to me. $550 for a night of fun, doing what I like I will take it. The over head for the 4x6 would be fairly low and I like the idea the web site also.
Of course I have a steady day job to cover my hobby cost.

We mainly went with 4 x6's because the event was held in the local F.O.E. (Faternal Order of the Eagles) Hall. Normally we charge $10.00 per 4 x 6, but this time, it was for a fund raiser and kept the prices down.

Awesome. I have a quick question for you and PhotoBoothGuy.
When shooting this type of event, do you put a contract in place with the people running the event or the people in the photos? For example, how do you notify the people in the shots that their photos may be used for marketing/online?
