Default Another logo question.

Advice logo, please? I am having one made by a professional graphic designer (it's currently in the works), so this one is just temporary. My husband made this up in Photoshop yesterday morning as something I can use on my website and as a watermark.

When I use it as a watermark, I adjust the opacity down to about 50% so it doesn't take away too much from the actual photo.

Whadya think?

Hi.. Are you a photographer or a graphic artist or a graffiti artist or a painter or a (the list goes on)

The only thing it doesn't tell me is what you actually do..

I hope that helps.

I do photography.

I really wanted to get away from the traditional "Such and such Photography" that is so common. I noticed there were a lot of these on google, so I know I'm not the first...

Exactly, but you're thinking AS a photographer... the people that you want to hire you to give you cash so you actually ARE a photographer don't think like us... they want to see a logo that says "Here! I'm what you're looking for" they don't want to guess...

Think of it like this -- when you google, you generally choose what you want from the first page, you choose what says "OVER HERE - IM WHAT YOURE AFTER" ...you don't generally go hunting for the obscure 'we do the same thing, maybe better, but you wouldn't know it because you don't KNOW what we do!'

I hope that helps...a bit more

I understand. Thanks for your help. Do you have another suggestion other than the traditional "Jane Smith Photography"? I am not totally opposed to using that, just wanting to explore other options.

Thanks!

WHat about having a little picture of a camera in there somewhere, even dump the opacity so it's not a focus stealer, but just there to say 'hey, I use a camera for this' ..immediately tells people what you do.

What about adding a camera to your logo? A simple one so the client knows that the images are coming from a camera?

I know you said this is only the temp version, but I wonder if you can use a capital "i" for images? I reaslise the 'lower casing everything' is kinda trendy, but I'm a bit of gammar nazi and just find it annoying.

Well I figured I may as well get in on your thread, since I have my own problems with Logo issues in my thread

I like this logo your husband designed, but I do agree (coming from one with the "ho-hum Jane Smith Photography" name), that at the least try to find some graphic of a camera or something that makes it more obvious what you do. Someone responded in my thread about how as a consumer they feel like it has to just scream photographer to be remembered.

Good Luck!
