Default Am I Ready to Start Selling?

I have been doing photography as a hobby for quite some time now and I was wondering if I am ready to step up my game. Here are some of my shots on flickr, but not all of them are the ones that I have done actual photoshoots for (those are somewhere else due to not getting wavers from people allowing me to post them).

Also, I was thinking of making business cards stating that I do photography and such. Would this be a good investment or shoud I wait on it? I really just need to put myself out there more. Any ideas?

I'd wait.

Scratch that... waiting is not really a good idea. Study, practicing and improving would be a more effective strategy.

To whom would you be selling your work? Based on the selection that you have on Flickr, there's not much there that would have any wide market appeal, either as fine art or stock. You might be able to have a go at portraiture (I've certainly seen so called professionals doing much worse work than you have there), but most of the successful ones are far better. I'm not saying you're work is bad, but there's a lot of room for improvement. I'd second Eric's advice, and suggest you keep learning, practicing, and improving and eventually you won't need to ask if you're ready, because you'll know.

I'll third that. You need to find your "thing" to shoot and shoot that. Shoot what you like. Shoot a lot, and seek out knowledge. Read books, watch vids on youtube, online articles. Cut back a tad on the saturation effects. also cahge your signature to something more simple and get rid of the outer stroke. Nothing wrong with simplicity. We all start somewhere, don't give up.
