Default Are Mac photobooks bad for a portfolio?

I'm going to put together a portfolio to show potential clients and I am wondering whether the Iphoto portfolio books that you can make would be acceptable? My portfolio will be mostly lifestyle work.

I tend to prefer photo albums that allow me to change the pages out depending on what the assignment. This also allows me to change out older images that may not be as good as newer work to keep the numbers down.

Using a computer for portfolio viewing is a smart idea...show the editor that you are technical savvy. And you can swap out photos in your portfolio as well.

I use hardcopy and/or a 10" tablet. Probably wouldn't use a laptop as I feel it shows a lack of effort.

O.P. is not talking about using the MacBook, he's talking about using a book produced by iPhoto.

I've ordered a book from iPhoto and whilst the photos could be printed at a higher DPI (they're not quite what you get out of a digital print for example), the colour reproduction was pretty solid and the book came out looking exactly how I designed it.

For a serious portfolio book, you may want to step up the quality factor though. The problem with iPhoto books is they're not all printed by the same company behind the scenes.

Well actually it's the photo catalogue software in Apple's iLife suite You can design and order books from it (in a bunch of different formats). Completely customisable.

Do you use the scrapbooks that are widely available? If not what do you use and where on earth did you find it?
