Default What would you do? Fellow photographer needs portraits

I got an email asking if I had any special prices/packages for fellow photographers. This woman is a photographer but doesn't have any family portraits of her family. She said she could do her own editing so that would save me time, and her money.

Should I give her a deal, and if so what kind?

How well do you know her? What kind of business does she have?

For me it would be a big no to let her do editing on my images.

I don't know her at all!
I did find her on RedBubble.com though and she does do some really nice work, so I don't think I would mind her editing my images.

Should I charge her my normal fee, but include a CD of high-res (unedited) images? Or give a discount on the session fee as well?

If you are ok with her editing her own images, then I would just charge her for the shoot (sitting fee/day rate/whatever term you feel fits best). Depending on your judgement, you could charge a CD fee.

Default Why not

Karma... An act of kindness is always worth more then you would ever charge. Trust me... do it for cost and it will come back to you 10 fold.

Is she a busy and successful photographer? If she feels she owes you, then you could be the person she refers to when she is already booked.

If you don't feel there is any networking value for you, then I would probably not move on the rates and include the high res cd. Just because she is in the same business does not mean she should get a discount. In fact, of anyone she should understand and be willing to pay your sitting fee.

Hand over the rose-coloured glasses. You'll be better off without them.

@Filemanager:
Dont do anything special: you shoot, you edit, you deliver. Normal rates, normal work.
If this were a friend, a close friend, that you knew would do a good job, I'd be tempted to include some RAW files along with your finished JPGs, but I would NEVER release straight RAWs without a very very very good reason.

If this is just some stranger asking for a session then normal rates and conditions apply.
If she can do something for you in return then by all means give a discount (small one) but you do all the editing etc as per any other customer.

Why should there be "special" rates just because they are also in the business?
