Lightbulb Interesting inexpensive backdrop idea

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this, but I thought I would share!

I've been looking for inexpensive alternatives for backdrops for my home studio, and someone suggested that custom polyester shower curtains might work! They're a decent size (60x72), and you can get them printed with whatever you want! Plus, there's the handy lil hanger things... (on a side note, this site looks pretty cool- they do all kinds of custom items, and for signing up, I got 1200 free photo prints- definitely gonna check it out!) Oh, and the curtains are $34.95.

They'd be OK for head and 3/4 shots, but not full length because they are too short. Interesting thought though.

Default Hi

If you really want to go very cheap, and I've done it many times before, go to a 5 and 10 cent store and buy wrapping paper, which should cost no more than $3. Use scotch tape, turned double sided and past to a wall and run another line to fill in your space. Works Beautifully. Very Cheap!

King size cotton bed sheets (non fitted ones) work great for us. We've used black ones with very good success. And they do come in a variety of colors

I recently took a brown king sized flat sheet, and a spray bottle of bleach and I had no clue how it would turn out, but I liked it. I dialed the nozzle so that it was a stream, and just sprayed, back and forth diagonally on the sheet (spread out on the concrete basement floor. I let it sit for about 15 minutes, then washed it and dried it like normal. This is what it ended up looking like.
