I finally started a blog a couple of weeks ago, and I would love some outside opinions. (Asked the family, and wouldn't you know, they all love it.
) Audrey Spear Photography Thoughts on color, layout, etc? I'd like to put a header on the top with links to my website, Facebook, etc. but I haven't had a chance to figure out how to do that yet. If anyone has tips on how to accomplish that (easily) would be great. Thank you in advance!

First off, nice work, you clearly know what you're doing in that respect.
The first (and only) thing that jumped out at me at a quick glance is the Blogger bar at the top. Hate those. Can you get rid of it? To me, and I'm very picky, it makes it feel less pro. But as I said, I'm super picky, so ignore away! ![]() I don't like how none of the words in your logo like "Maternity" or "Wedding" etc actually link to something. I clicked up there thinking it'd send me to a portfolio or something.. so, to me at least, it was (obviously unintentionally) misleading. If I'm a client looking for your portfolio, that'd tick me off that I couldn't click there. Otherwise, I like the simple elegant look to it. Just work on getting those clickable links and all should be good (once you get rid of the blogger thing )Al |

Your blog looks very neat Audrey. Good font size, excellent colour choices for reading your blog (black on white). It looks very simple and professional.
I like that you are showing off your work in your blog posts. But what do you want people to do when they have finished reading them? - Do you want them to share your post (I notice some sharing links) - Do you want them to have a look at more of the photographs in your portfolio - Do you want them to organise a session with you? - Do you want people to sign up to your mailing list. and lots of other examples..... It is always good to have a call to action at the end of the post, e.g. "If you enjoyed this post, get regular updates in your inbox today." It helps your audience know what to do next and actually has good conversion rates if the person reads to the end of your and has enjoyed it. I already think your blog looks great. This is just an opinion, so you don't have to take it

I too agree with all the likes and suggested changes. But, I'd go one step farther and describe a bit (in words) about handling the shoot, picking the location and posing and maybe the problems you might have encountered. Otherwise, good work. Click on my blog and see how I approached a blog.......interesting stories behind the photos.

Like already pointed out I like the simplicity and that it doesn't have a black background like lot of photo blogs.
Design background of the page syncs very well with your offerings Good short descriptions in posts instead of long stories behind them Good collection to show Few things to improve on Font sizes are inconsistent (I know it's a blogspot thing so you'd have to remember the size you use every time) May be it's me but feel like either there are too many photos in each post or the sizes are too big Add your contact info (name, phone, location, email, hours, etc.) Don't forget your pic in the About section (I need to do one my self )Easy access to subscribe |

Thank you everyone for all the feedback! I plan on putting some work into it come January, there's so much going on right now I can barely think. I will definitely be making the text at the top link to what it should, as I mentioned originally - I just need to figure out how.
And I really like the idea of letting people subscribe, I'll add that to the list of things to look into. As for the Blogger bar, I wonder if that's because it was free? I'll look into seeing what it takes to get that off, I hate it too. Thank you again, and happy holidays!

Love your photos! And, for anyone who read before, Audrey uses the nice stylish watermarks/branding I was refering to!
Which site are we critiquing(sp) here? The blogspot one or the .com?
