They paid for us to shoot the photos, and they have the right to not like the way they were edited. What could possibly go wrong if your unedited image is 'floating around'?
I believe that mentality is rather insecure.
Six months ago I would have agreed with your position. However, the work you do leaves an impression on the world, and you don't want that to be a negative one. Work for cheap, if you must, but don't let somebody else screw up your work.

That's funny, I just got done defending my "shoot cheap not free" position to you in the last thread, and here you are saying shoot cheap if you have to. oh well.

Kinda sorta. For myself, I don't want to shoot free, but that's a personal choice. All I'm saying here is to not ruin your own reputation by having your own images out there that aren't edited by you.

If I have a consistent style and someone says "Wow, great photos, wanna do this job?" they're hiring me to take photos of the same standard and part of that standard is how I develop my RAWs into JPEGs. As such, they ain't getting anything other than JPEGs!

I just say I shoot in RAW and unprocessed photos (if they have the software to read RAW files) are very flat and gray (even when converted to JPG), so I never release them.
