Default What do you do in the winter?

For those of you who do mostly outdoor type work, not exclusively in studio, what do you do in the winter when the weather is cold and unpredictable?
I am thinking about taking these next few months to study, research, practice, learn about artificial lighting, practice some more, and market myself, so that I can hit it full force when spring comes.
Probably I will do some landscapes, and a few "in the snow" sessions for practice with some friends.
But other than that, I feel at a loss for what can be done over the next few months.

So what do you all do in the winter months?

I use natural window light if the light is good in a client's home. If the light isn't good, I use my AlienBee.

When shooting my own kids, I tend to use window light - my living room is never really used as a living room and I've got a huge bay window that lets in gorgeous light, so I've rearranged the furniture and it's become my "studio".

I'm going to practice still life photography. I've read that if you study still life you get a real understanding of lighting and how if affects form, shape, dimension, texture etc

I want to capture some great candlelight shots too. I have one of those angel chimes and it should give a great affect.

Angel Chimes - Original Swedish Christmas Decoration - With 4 Candles: Amazon.co.uk: Kitchen & Home

My son has one of those Newton Cradles and I am going to try different shutter speeds for different effects.

Its all part of the learning process.....

Yea..........I couldn't believe all the crap we had stuffed in our cars while shooting the MADD poster. We're going to inventory next to see what all we have in order to put on a group insurance policy. Gonna be scary.

I have alot, because of signature space I couldn't add my EOS 1D's (three). I think Jesse almost has the same gear I have, but has the (three EOS D1 's and a MKII,, 16-35, 70-200mm, 300mm f4 and a 400mm f.2. Greg owns a 50D and MKII with a 28-105, 135 f2 and a 70-200mm. Brad, the black sheep, used to own Canon, but switched to Nikon has two D7000's, a 16-35, 24-70, 70-200 and a 300mm f2.8. Not to mention, remote triggers, flash units and god knows what else.
