OMG....that's AWESOME! LOL! And so true.......but, Indigo is still in high school, hasn't hit the college days yet, lol.

Yeah, we know you're a weirdo...you shoot with adapted Zeiss (that give a quality that Canon or Nikon engineers would sell their mother for) MF lenses and have a slight(?) obsession with way cool fountain pens. So no surprise that you'd be the oddball that loves winter. However, we kid/baby photographers have a tough time getting our clients to bring their newborns out into 10 degree F weather.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, proudly: Your knowledge and photography make you one photo/techno geek I'd go gay for, LMAO! Oh, did I type that out loud? Again?

By the way, I wish you'd post in SYS once in a while. I do stalk your Flickr stream occasionally.

K, I need to shut the hell up.

Hey, if you liked that one, you should hear the Avenue Q song "What Can You Do With a BA in English?"...

Well, the fact that we have horribly sunny and warm weather for Christmas is part of it, too. My friends in Minnesota always laugh at me when I visit and goggle at the snow. They have to keep telling me that it's not snow unless it stays on the ground.

I'll bet.

Awww. I always feel like I'm already shoving too many of my pics into conversational threads. And I'm more about the geek and technique than the art. But. Just for you. A shot I took last night in Balboa Park:

Canon 5D Mark II. Adapated Olympus OM-mount Zuiko Auto-S 50mm f/1.2.
iso 1600. f/1.2. 1/30s. Handheld. Aka "available dark" shooting.
Cold weather gear: a hoodie sweatshirt.

Actually, a great deal more than one can do with a BA in photography.

English majors are highly valued as generalists by employers such as pharmaceutical companies. One can train a marketing person, one cannot train someone to know a great deal about many things—which is necessary for a career in marketing, sales or management.

The Zuiko, a hoodie, or the thing in the background of the shot?

To me, a "hoodie" is one of those ugly sweatshirts with hood, typically worn by people who are having a bad hair day or those with complexes.

You weren't particularly clear asking "what is that?" after quoting both my photo and the text I wrote about what I used to take the picture. I was merely covering all the bases. But yes, my hoodie is ugly. Comfy as hell, though.

LOL

I didn’t see your hoodie. I was asking about the photo. I realize now that it’s in Balboa Park. That is an interesting treatment. Now, the average, inartistic Joe would have tossed that nice shot out.

I rarely delete anything. You never know how one can use a pix.

Hey, since were talking about ugly hoodies and how much were geeks,...I have this hoodie that my hubby got me for valentines day when we dated before. Its from thinkgeek.com and has the structural formula for caffeine. I've had it for 5+ years now and it needs to be replaced badly, but its so comfy and dear to me that I just cant give it up yet. If thats the kind of hoodie were talking about.

As for my plans for winter,... I'm kinda hoping to experiment more with artificial light too. I've been doing mostly outdoor shots because of having a P&S. I want to try and see what I can get it to do indoors. Otherwise, If I am able to get it, I'll be practicing with my DSLR,....IF I can save up enough in time.

Since were also on the subject of Avenue Q and gay-ness. Enjoy!
