Question Image Hosting Websites - Ideas?

Hi everyone,

I would like to have a website for my photography, something to show to potential customers, and I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions for a good images hosting website, something like smugmug.com?

Preferably something that would give my nice templates, and the option to have my own domain as well.

Thanks!

I've been looking into Zenfolio... I'm not quite there yet...hopefully pretty soon.

I'm a happy Zenfolio customer, after having been an unhappy Smugmug customer (frequent downtimes from the latter). If you decide to check out Zenfolio, my referral code will get you a discount: DUQ-C5J-MB8

I am with Zenfolio and wouldn't think of changing. Use code D9T-JVT-H4V.

With so many web options open you could always set up your own .com and buy a template from one of the many website template sites. These usually run about $65 and you get to do whatever you like with it.

Right now I use fatcow.com for hosting all of my websites (3 domains and there is plans for more). It is $4 something a month, unlimited bandwidth, unlimited space, unlimited domains and well you get the idea. Their customer service usually answers within 2-3 minutes even in their busiest times. They even offer drag and drop site building tools should you not be up to running a web editor like dreamweaver.

How it works is that you pay for the hosting and then $11 per domain per year to renew.

The big deal about fatcow aside from the fact you can have unlimited domains is that they are not listed as an "abusive host list" like godaddy is. When I was on go daddy my email usually went to the internet black hole because godaddy refused to do anything about spammers and the like. Email providers like AOL and Hotmail and so on refused my mail and away it would go.

I just signed up for Smugmug Pro. I'm really happy with their service and I was able to customize the site so that it looks exactly like my regular website. They have 3 different pricing schedules for different needs, and all have unlimited storage.

Plus, they have lots of other features like private galleries and ecommerce for print and product sales.

I'd definitely recommend them and they have a free two week trial.
