If you had included some real info in your first post i'm sure someone would have helped you.
Not everyine has enough time to come back and check for replies, read those replies, and then formulate an answer.... there are better things to do.

you told us nothing and expected an answer...

Ahh yes, perfect comment. He said, "invaluable" and I was confused as to if he was being sarcastic or not! LOL

To Rusty-- just because a few people posted a joke, doesn't mean you have to throw in the DPS towel! I actually thought the Dr. Evil reference was kinda funny. Lighten Up!

PS I also think $1000 is too much to charge, but that is my humble opinion....

Wow Rusty... Really harsh words...

I wouldn't know what to charge either. Have you ever shot a concert? I looked through your photos on your Snapixel page and only saw one shot of a guitar. You've got some great studio shots of models, landscapes and some strawberries.

I hope you know what you're getting into.

I have tried to take a few concert shots of regional acts and it is tough. Unpredictable lighting along with unpredictable performers makes for a tough three songs. think I actually got a total of two shots that I really really liked the last show I tried to shoot.

Glad you found your answers. I'd like to see your results and possibly learn a thing or two from a true professional

Send a private email to Sime, he should definitely know a decent answer for this.
And please please tell him it's me that told you to bug him in a private message!

Rusty, I'll guess I'll have to jump in now. You need to talk to the artists manager and find out what the package consists of and how they want to license the images (how many) afterwards, such as promos, posters, CD covers, press releases, and web usages. About $200.00 a hour sounds right for the early arrival, shooting, editing and post-processing, but make sure you don't give him a cd full of images afterwards. Make a selection of your favorites and put together a slide show, set up an appointment with him and show him your "BEST" work......give him the wowwwwwww factor. Then, talk about usages and licenses, these band business managers are smart as hell and if they can try (and will) get the rights for next to nothing if you don't stand by your guns. IF the images are good enough, they will pay top dollar for them. It's all really a mind game in selling your photography to everyone out there. Do some research and find out what other photographers charge for rights and such.
You might want to get a hold of Roger Ressmeyer, who started shooting concerts in the Bay area. He nows lives here in the PNW on Mercer Island. Roger, started taking pictures of Grace Slick and the Jefferson Airplane and his career snow balled. His love now is space science.
Here's his bio info, biography and I'm sure he'd be happy to help. Cheers..........
