Default Question about making a CD

Hello,

I took some photos for a hometown person a long time ago. Since then I have moved from the area. They had asked for prices before and I sent them. I heard nothing for a long time and then just recently I got a message about photos and saying they have been trying to contact me. The only number I gave her was my cell and the number didn't change. Now all of a sudden she just wants a cd. I need to know how to price this. We are a military family adn her boyfriend is also military. I waived the normal session fee due to his service and that he was preparing to deploy at the time. I also offer military a 10% discount, so I told her I would still give her that rate although I waived the session fee. When I went to take these photos I drove 2 1/2 hours to her. We then rode in her car to numerous locations. After that we went back to my sister's house where my sister ordered and paid for the food for all of us. She didn't even offer money to my sister. RUDE I know. Now she is giving me all kinds of attitude. I was wondering what would be the best way to approach this and what should I charge her? We too over 100 photos and I edited most of them with neat sayings and such. Also should I sell her all photos or just the ones she likes? She wants to put together a gift for her deployed boyfriend. I offered to do the book for her. She is continuing with being nasty. She can't hurt my business as I don't live in that location anymore and it started out as a nice simple photoshoot that is now turning ugly.

Thanks for the suggestions!

If you had not previously quoted her a price for a CD (and you are willing to sell it to her), quote her a price of $50/image. DO NOT let her have any image that is not heavily watermarked and flattened until her payment clears. Then include your price list of prints AND give her a time limit for ordering. Use on online ordering system like Imagequix (pay per event you post) so you don't have to deal directly with her again.

Just make sure you heavily watermark your images before posting anywhere and make sure they are right-click protected.

GL,
Anne
