How terrible!! I felt sick at my stomach when they were trying to pull those cameras out of the water!

I so feel for him. Having recently tripped over a piece of driftwood and almost went full face into a tidal pool with my camera hanging around my neck, I have experienced the terror. Fortunately I was able to stop the fall and only the tip of my telephoto hit water, but there was sand and water splash on everything.
A quick clean off on site and a trip to the autorized repair center for the camera the next day (they did not work on lenses but referred me to another repairt tech). A week later was able to get the lens to the repair tech who checked it out and said it was fine.

Good case for equipment insurance.

I like how the guy next to him pulls the camera out of the water before the photographer! I hope I never have to find out if memory cards work after getting wet.

They still work... You just have to give them say a day or 2 to dry. I put one through the washing machine once.

My friend and the second shooter of a wedding I worked on sent me that video the night before the wedding as a joke. Did not make me less stressed.
