Mileage
Just wondering if you have a specified 'radius' you'll travel for portrait sessions. I've listed on my website that it's 25 miles. I have a potential sr portrait client that wants to shoot almost 40 miles away. Also, the place I'd suggested shooting is a town/area I'm very familiar with (it's an outdoor session) as opposed to the site they'd like to shoot that I don't know at all.

The IRS gives you credit for about 50 cents per mile. I charge $1.00 a mile to cover driving time, gas, oil and wear and tear. I just did a job for a major chemical production corporation where I charged them for over 950 miles driven. They didn't even blink an eye or the $20.00 an hour for driving time. Now....that negotiation in your bids.

 No, I dont actually. I dont have a set mileage rate: I do it by spec, usually at a "how long will it take me to get there" rate.
