I would like to get some help understanding how to price my sessions and photos. It looks like a lot of my previous clients wanted all images on CD, and not the print version. Normally I have like 50-80 photos. How much should I price that for? I also charge $150 non-refundable for my time and creativity. Is that low or high? Any recommendations would help. I'm located in San Francisco Bay Area, if that makes any difference in figuring out the price.
Thanks, Katya ____________________________ Maternity & Children Photography www.littlethingsinlifephoto.com |

In SF, $150 for a sitting seems pretty low. One decent benchmark for high res files for personal use is 2x the price of an 8x10 or 11x14 per file. You can cut the clients a break at a certain number of files. Purchase X number of files and get 10% off or some such. |

Best way to get an idea is to jump on teh phone and call other studios, pretend you want soem pictures taken and get all teh info, then you will know whats on offer, the pricing and where you can price your self.
It might feel a little dodgy but people do it all the time. HTH |
