I've heard some good things about it, but I find the price a bit steep.

Okay, so I went and looked some more.

The typos and spelling mistakes on this page alone make me leery of spending any money on her "book" much less the kind of money she is asking for.

The book covers how to determining pricing . . .

. . . how to build a portrait collections . . .

I'm afraid I'll have to pass.

Yeah I'm guessing that book is crap. First thing I noticed was .. after 1 year the author grosses over 100K in portrait sales ... Ok first off that's not impressive enough to make me want to buy the book. Then I looked at her site. Over $100K my tooshie. I doubt that seriously. Her portraits are mediocre at best. Not only that her galleries are filled with basically all the same people .. it looks like her family gallery consists of ... 1 family session ?!?!?! .. You made over 100K and these are the only images you can come up with for your gallery. I don't think so.
What's all the cooking lingo about anyway? Coupled with absolutely no info that might give a clue to her level of business knowledge. My guess is if I wrote a book on the marketing & sales strategies I use in the studio she would be highlighting it like a MOFO. Stay away from this book.

I would reccomend anything from amherst media, they only do photograph books and they have quite a few concentrating on the business side, including pricing, marketing etc and the info is pretty good, even if some of the photos in the book are a bit basic.
