Default Senior Sessions

Any thoughts on how much to charge for a senior session? I haven't done one yet but I've been asked to do a few this year. I will be doing one in a few weeks but it is for my husband's cousin's daughter...so I'm not charging her much. I know that it depends on what you may charge for other sessions like family/babies and weddings (I'm assuming somewhere in between the two). I'm not sure how much time it will take compared to a family session but I'm guessing that there may be more touch ups needed so a lot more time in pp.

depends what you want to supply as a product.

CD/DVD? full or low resolution?
Prints? storybook?

all varies the pricing dramatically

Well, yeah but I guess I was just wanting an idea of where the pricing may fit in range with the rest of the sessions you do.
I offer high res DVD and I do a storybook.

theres no quick answer to this .. can't just setup your entire pricing structure in a thread but a general starting point is session options ranging in the $100-300 range plus a minimum print order of $200-400 with 6 package options going from the minimum to $1000-3000

I already have a price structure set up for the other session I do and don't have packages - just flat session fees. What I am asking is, based on the amount of work you do, where would a senior session fit in with the rest of the sessions?
To simplify, lets say you charge $100 for a family session (about an hour) and $600 for a wedding (about 4 hours) where in between, based on the amount of shooting time and post production, would a senior session fit? Closer to $300 or $200? I'm thinking it will take about 2 hours for a senior.

Based on what?? Some seniors bring 1 outfit some bring 10 outfits. Some are fast changers and some are slower than a 90 yr old woman. Some want shot just in the studio, 5 mins from the studio, 20 mins away, an hour from the studio, multiple locations, etc. You can't just say it's gonna be about 2 hours for everybody because it might be 45 mins, 1 hr, 2 hrs, 3 hrs. Lump it all into 1 timeframe without having session options you can upsell and you'll never go very far, waste a bunch of time, loss money, etc.
Come up with some options and offer $100, $200 & $300 session fees. You will make more on clients who want more while still offering something to those who are on lower budgets. As far as coming up with something between your $100 family and $600 weddings ... no clue because $600 for any wedding is just insane. Add a 2 in front of that 6 or something.
