Default Upgrade

havnt posted for awhile, I bought a Nikon D5000 last year and have gradually been building up contacts and work with magazines and other clients.

I really need to Upgrade to a better body as im moving into studio shots with models, lights, flash, backdrops etc for magazines.

As I am self taught Im not sure what model to move up to, Anyone got advise, I was thinking D300, or 80/90 something like that?!

Thanks,

Yup. Those are the ones you want to look at, if your budget precludes you going to the D700.

A used D300 (on the fredmiranda board these are going for about $1k) may actually be the sweet spot on value for you, assuming you don't need video. The D300 has the pro features like autofocus microadjust and the metal body. Usually, a mid-tier camera one generation back is going to be the best value in terms of price vs. usability features.

But a D90 also has a PC port, and flash pop-up commander, which are the two main features you're going to want when it comes to studio lighting. And it does video.
