I have shot several Civil War Reenactments. I initially shot one for a friends regiment's website. The website is http://www.37thalabama.com All the pictures are mine. I even shot a period wedding for one of their members at a reenactment for them. All my pictures of the battles are on my website. majikkatana.smugmug.com. Fell free to look at them. It might give you some ideas. One other thing never throw away a mistake shot. This was taken at the one where I shot the wedding(not the couple getting married). Actually it is they guy and his wife that hired me to shoot the first one i did for them.

There was no pp involved. This is the way it turned out. I like the ghostliness and eeriness of the shot.

Yes, some Danish (and Swedish/Norwegian and a girl from Finland) people reenacted a battle from the American civil war :-D

In terms of Danish history there are viking reenacters in Denmark as well :-)

So I finished my first paid job a couple of weeks ago.

I had bought a flash kit with two light boxes for the portraits. I certainly learned quite a bit that evening.

Like: bring extra long extension cords, bring duct tape to ensure that the wires stay on the floor so a woman with an enormous dress doesn't kick over your lights, bring extra fuses and bulbs.

Everything went fine though. I took a series of portraits, using the flash kit. I covered the dinner after wards and then the dancing.

I have uploaded a couple of the portraits on flickr, if someone wants to see/comment?
