Default Packaging High-Res Images and Print Release

For those of you that have sold high-resolution images to clients that would like to do their own printing, what exactly did you give to the client?

I have interest in some of my work, and the person wants to do their own printing. I have no problem with that, and I have a release form written up, but how do I do this? Do I put all the high-resolution images they purchased on a CD along with a PDF file of the print release?

Do you think that is sufficient?

Thanks in advance for suggestions.

ALWAYS include a copy of the release (in legal and in plain english) in PDF format. Make sure the client realizes they have agreed to the terms, what the consequences are for breaking them etc.

If you're delivering the CD, include a copy of the release, printed standard letter format. I will sometimes (with some commercial work) include the basics of the release (in point form) on the incide of the CD case (the jacket).

I also embed the terms of the agreement into the ITPC caption field in the photo. Go to file - field info and then click on Description and add copyright info. Next, go to IPTC Content and add your name, address and such. Lastly go to IPTC Status and add Usage rights in Rights Usage Terms. That way, all the important info is in every photograph.
