Default Photography Ebook Pricing

I'm currently wondering about pricing an upcoming photography ebook. I've seen everything from $5 and up to $155 for ebooks in the past. Pro photographer David duChemin sells a number of photography ebooks for only $5 each. This idea of $5 each goes against a lot of information I see around the web on pricing.

I'm even trying to see if I can swing a free portion other than the 7 free chapters when signing up for my newsletter.

In the past, I've purchased ebooks that are $100. So I mean, I might not be the best person to look at for myself.

I believe the ebooks that get sold here by Digital Photography School are about $19. Is this a price most people are willing to pay? I personally want to find a way to offer the basic ebook content in a way thats accessible to almost everyone. I am inclined to offer the thing for free but in order to continue working, I sadly might have to charge. I guess I shouldn't say sadly, but I feel as if content is meant to be free and consumed. That's why I'm exploring ideas on how to get something thing more than newsletter download offer to be free.

What do you find to be your most optimal price to pay? The prices I've seen here or have you been held back in the past?

I'd love to open this discussion up here and talk about it.

Thanks

This is all personal opinion, so take it with a grain of salt:

I would not buy one of your eBooks, not at any price point. The links in your signature say to me that you are an internet marketer trying to sell information as opposed to an industry leader or expert on the topic at hand willing to share their knowledge. I'm reminded of get rich quick real estate schemes a la Don Lapre where I could make millions from a one bedroom apartment.

Maybe that's not your intent, but that's how I perceive it.
