Default Proshow - Love it and so did the client!

Hey guys. Just bought proshow yesterday after playing with the demo and animoto....and I love it. I went with producer. Whipped up my first slideshow yesterday. I think it turned out pretty good. You can view it HERE. Went with proshow because i liked the control I got over things, even though its more time consuming. This particular show I did for free as a portfolio builder, presented it to the customer as a surprise and they went crazy over it.

Couple questions, what are people charging for these? This show took me 2 hours of production time to produce (I think I could get it down to an hour with the practice, there was alot of fumbling around on my part this time), I figured as a $100-150 add on to a normal 1 hour session output in the format they want, that could be an extra money maker. Seniors maybe add it as a $250 (they will have more pictures as we average 2-4 hours on those sessions). Would be nice for alot of them to display at their graduation parties and could even incorporate scanned family photos for them if they would supply them, for a fee of course. For a wedding, where you are going to have a 15-30 minute production of a slideshow that will take you several more hours, I figured maybe offer it as a $400 add on, or different prices depending on the length of slideshow of photos they want.

Is anyone out there selling slideshows, or are you doing them as thank you's to customers who bought alot of prints, or use it to stimulate sales meaning if they buy $500 of prints, they get a slideshow free.

EDIT: BTW yes I know the song is copyrighted, remember I didn't make money off this show though and I knew that, and its the first song I grabbed. I will be getting some royalty free music soon.

I use videos as a freebie. They're nice for the client I guess, but it's more for me to show the portfolio and control how it's first delivered, and of course easily share via FB.

I use Windows Movie Maker. It works just fine. Make sure they're not too long as they get really old really quickly, that's my advice. I felt like when I was watching the sample you posted I wanted to keep fast forwarding. I generally have a frame up or 3 seconds with a fade in/out of 0.5 seconds. My basic sessions last about 2 minutes, including titles, weddings have been about 7 minutes with titles.

I make enough off of my clients without stinging them for another few hundred for what amounts to not much work. Again, they're more for display and sharing than anything else.

Try FreindlyMusic.com. The price is right and legal.

I agree, I love ProShow and have had it for years. Although, I don't use it as often these days.
