Default What did you use to build your website?

I was just curious, which program/hosting site/etc did you use to build your website? My husband and I have a barn, and I already have a site for that... I used Yahoo site builder. It is very basic, and there aren't many things I can do with it.
I will be building a website for a small side photography business I am starting soon, and would like other options.
I am slightly technologically challenged So it would be a plus if it were user friendly. I don't know anything about HTML.

Thank you!

Too lazy myself.....
I would use dreamweaver or flash, or a combination if I ever got the motivation to do so. (I have extensive experience with both) I suggest you use whatever you are comfortable with which delivers the results you want...If you can't find that combination, hire a pro.

Default Dead Simple "Posterous"

A real easy photo blog can be set up for free with Posterous. This lets you post pictures from Flickr and post up any commercial blurbs about it without violating Flickr terms of service. I did this with my Posterous blog at krowland.com

This is a site contains all the top ranking domain hoster in the entire web. It is also free, you will not have any fee on making a site. I hope this site will really help you on building a site.

I find Joomla more bloated than it needs to be and for example article management is overly complicated. I'd go for Wordpress over Joomla in just about every case.

I coded my own portfolioish site myself using some ********** stuffs from the web. Granted that it's not a professional thing and mostly just to show what I've done in a rather simple way. No big gallery stuffs or anything. Or flash, which I really don't like for websites.

But anyways... Check out Wordpress. Many hosts enable it (and many other cms) to be installed from the host control panel so you don't need to mess with databases too much and so on.

I used Wordpress myself too! I found Joomla too difficult to even set up an easy template, so I decided to go with wordpress. It's really easy to use, tons of templates that you can change and many plugins that can make you do the things the way you want! My portfolio is simple showed in the gallery of Wordpress, with a Lightbox when people click on it.

I came across this site the other day which you might find useful. These people set up a Wordpress site for you for free. The link is here Wordpress for Free

From what I read, it works by you paying only for the domain/hosting, and then they get commission from the hosting company, which means they can set up your site for free. Not sure if they do only blogs though, or if they can help out with a photography website, but it won't hurt to ask.
