Not going to be shooting the games at this point. I don't have the lens I need/want for this. Just shooting the individual/team photos.

Anyone have a sample contract? I'm finalizing everything today or tomorrow.

Thanks!

My best selling item is a personalized memory mate with one individual 5x7 plus 8 wallets, which I sell for $30

If you have a standard portrait contract, you can pretty much use that with minor changes.

Good Luck, Karen

Thanks. I'll look at the memory mates offered by Bay Photo. That's a good idea.

Do you find they buy the cards as well?

This may an idea that you don't want to deal with, but I'll throw it out there. When I worked at Printroom: Web Storefronts, Online Sales, and Digital Printing for Professional Photographers, some of the other popular items parents ordered for their kids were trading cards and team and player posters (a poster that has a picture of the individual as well as a team pic). When I played football in high school, I would have been thrilled to have a real trading card with my picture on it. You can also put images on t-shirts, magnets, mousepads, etc.

If you want to take a look:

Default few tips

-Bring something to provide shade for squinters I usually bring a white reflector.
-Charge more for ala cart items to encourage buying a package
-A clean ball as someone mentioned before. Try to use the same one for all photos.
-For soccer if you are doing full body make sure the shin guards are covered or off
-For real young teams (we shoot some as young a 4-5) when setting up the group photos if you are using two lines have one turn around while you instruct the other. Then have the first group cover their ears while you instruct the second.
-if you are accepting checks don't deliver until they clear
-when telling them what to do mimic the movement you want them to do. for example if you say go on one knee you go on one knee to show them.
-we always tell kids if they take three good group photos we will take a silly one after that. We usually throw it in as a free wallet in ordered packages most parent prefer the silly photo over the normal one..
-we only offer online purchase after the packages are purchased because most people like to look and not buy.
-we shoot for low income area so our packages are low in price. We do give out a few coupons to the league for people who can't afford anything.
-We process locally to keep cost down.
Hope this helps some..
