Smile 2 questions

Hi all,

I am a newbie and getting started in photography. I actually have 2 questions that I hope I can get some help with. First, what is the best way to set up a portfolio? and Second, where is the best place to get pictures printed off?? I really appreciate all the help. Heres the link to my blog so everyone can see what I do.

A view from my lens

Thanks!!

First let me credit Osmosis for handing out the link to No Plastic Sleeves, a site dedicated to great portfolios. Spend time there and you will not only learn a great deal about how to set one up, you will also see many examples of the best in the industry.

I did? Hmm. Dont get me wrong, I may have, but dont remember. In either case:

What you have now is not a portfolio but a blog, and while it's almost entirely images, it's still a blog. Look at the link LeeR posted, find others online, take a look around. Most importantly, take your time.

I strongly advocate looking for a professional printing lab in your area. Per print prices will be a little more expensive than online services, but you have the advantage of having real people behind the counter you can talk to who can help you resolve any problems you might have. if you're having a problem with color calibration, they can help you. If you're not sure how large you can print a file, they can tell you. They also typically offer a wider range of services, and while prices may be higher you won't have shipping costs or the wait for shipping. For some of us, keeping our money local and supporting independent small businesses is a bonus too.
