Default Gallery for clients ? What Do you Use?

I was wondering what everyone uses for proofs for their clients?

I have heard anywhere from wordpress, to using hidden pages in your website...
I'm totally new to that aspect but wondering how...

I use Mpix for my printing and they allow sharing of the albums, but is that sufficient?
I would create their album with watermarks on my images reduced down to probably 72pixels or so...

I was also thinking of doing it old school, printing proofs and having sessions that way, but.. i dont want all that extra work.. plus the pressure.. i know personally I liked having my family pics so that I can send the link to people and if they wanted to get prints too they could...

You could use wordpress and put a password on the client post to keep them priviate or alternatively you could create backside directories on your website and password protect them, upload watermarked low res images and send the client the username password.

I was wondering the same thing... I saw that Mpix offers a "free trial" for Zenfolio. Curious if others have tried/used this site as an online gallery and their impressions.

I normally do paper proofs, but for times where I've had to proof online for clients (not local) I use Zenfolio. It's $100 a year. If you decide to use them, let me know and I'll send you a code for $5 off.

They do give you a 14 day free trial period so you can make sure you like them before you shell out any $$.

I use Smugmug & set up a password protected gallery. Once in the gallery the clients can see the images but cannot right click to save the pictures. From the gallery they can order prints as desired. They can also send the link to friends & relatives for them to order as well. So far it has worked very well for me.

i usually create low res image contact sheets in adobe bridge, save as pdf then email to the client.... also the good thing on that is that during the contact sheet creation you can password protect the print option as well is disable right click save as, as well...
