Exclamation Would love feedback on my site!

I just built a new site to get my name out there a little more, and I'd love it if you guys could give it a look and let me know what you think!

I like it, it's easy to maneuver and is pleasing to the eye! Great job!

and wix.com... that's what I use and love it!

Hi Dana,
Maybe it's just me, but the flashing on the left side of your website is extremely distracting. I was so busy trying to avoid the flashing that I didn't really appreciate your galleries.

In my opinion, I'd do away with that.

I like it, but doubleg makes a good point. Although it isn't distracting when you view the photos in fullscreen. I too use wix. Great website!

It looks great. I'd make the gallery images larger, but otherwise the look is good. The left side is busy, though. Too much going on, especially the glowing thing coming out of the camera.

The bigger issue is loading. It takes foreeeeever. From clicking to the page being done loading was almost 30s, and that's too damned long. Pages also took some time to load.

Finally, and this is a really red flag for me: It's WIX. And it's got that WIX logo plastered all over it. And that, to me, screams amateur.

I agree with both doubleg and Osmosis, the flashing on the right is rather distracting and it took me forever to load. I cant really talk as have not gotten around to attempting to create my own site but the whole WIX thing does seem a little amaturish. Have you thought about going with something like squarespace? sure you have to pay a little but i think it would pay off in the future by allowing a cleaner, more professional looking site. I have only heard good things about them plus there are plenty of discount codes floating around the web to get you money off.

+1 for not liking the lazer beam coming out of the camera.

It looks ok, but as Osmosis said, and I know it sucks to hear it, but Wix is well, Wix. It literally says 'free website' both in my browser tab, and on the site itself. I had a bit of a slow load. its not my connection or system. Just sayin'.

Also, when i viewed the images, specifically the wedding gallery, there were a LOT of heads cut off. I'm assuming you don't shoot like that, and its a case of the host not resizing images to fit the template. Of course clicking on the image opens it up, but if one were just to let it scroll...

I also was a bit turned off by your 'about me' and 'education' copy. It's one thing to be honest about your experience, its another to emblazon it on the landing page of your website.

It's a clean site having said all of that, and is a good place to start for sure. There are many worse out there.

I just have one little niggle about the gallery. I'd prefer to see navigation arrows for the pictures. I hate not having control over viewing a gallery, a slide-show I can't stop and go back. If you miss one you have to wait for it to come round again.

I'd like to see a pause/play button for it, arrows to skip along and back and an option to expand into a thumbnail gallery so you can see previews of all the pictures in a section at once..

I like it

It is fast to load (very important), easy to navigate and although the slide show is fast, it is nice that there are controls to enlarge the images and control the movement of the slide show yourself from there.

Well done
