The "Spider things" are Spider Holsters and I simply adore mine. The R-strap was a great step in the right direction, but the Spider Holster really is revolutionary.

There is also the Cotton Carrier System that I think will work well for others, but I can't wear it comfortably because it reminds me too much of my days in bullet proof vests.

Maybe it's all in my head but I just see the day I can finally drop the money on something like a 70-200 and kneel down once and crack the front element on something. That or go to take it off and flat out drop it.
