Default Accepting Credit Cards

Ok, this may be much simpler than what most cc questions are. I don't care about processing cards onsite or anything crazy like that. I was wondering if I can take a cc # and use that within my PayPal account to charge a customer for prints/services. I can't seem to find a way to do this. I see how to add the functionality to a website but I'm just talking about someone contacts me about something, wants to pay me via cc and I take the card and charge them. Is there a way to do this? Some people don't have a PayPal account for various reasons.

Thanks.

As far as I know, the only way is to send an invoice to their email account through PayPal. They enter in their account info and the money gets put in your account. I believe there's a small charge, however (something like 3% of the total?). If they don't have a PayPal account they'll have to make one.

Kind of thinking this is the case. I'm just looking for an easier way. Lots of people don't like PP so they don't/won't have an account. Most of my business is cash/check but would like to be able to accept cc.

I'm ok with the fees for using cc. I'm used to paying PP fees anyway.

I've found that most are pretty much okay with using PayPal. I have on my T&C that I accept cash, checks, and credit cards via Paypal. That way they know in advance that if they want to use a credit card they'll have to go through PP. Works for me.

whe i'm asked for payment by CC, i just tell them to transfer cash out of the credit card to their personal account, and then do a deposit direct to me.

that way i dont get lumped with CC and transfer fees...

Paypal has a "virtual terminal" as one of their packages.

Propay has a virtual terminal, online invoices and even a card reader.

I send invoices via PP, Susan's right, its about 3%, but they don't have to have a PP account themselves.

I thought they did have to have an account? How do I collect via cc using PP if the customer doesn't have an account?

They do not have to have an account. They simply enter the information and you get the payment. The option is on the payment page on the left-hand side, while sign-in is right next to it on the right-hand side.

what Lynnae said!

It's similar to buying something on the web as a 'guest'. You make out the invoice on the PP site, its emailed the client, they click a link in the email. The link takes them to a secured page where they enter their CC information. receipts are then sent to seller and buyer.
