Default Social Media advertising...

Hello DPS...
I'm still deployed and I will be home soon. I want to be able to get my business off the ground when I do return. I have been doing some marketing on Facebook and blogging. I want to do enough marketing so that at least a few people know who I am when I get home. I would like to get some fresh idea about using Social Media... How has it helped your business? How do I reach local people and advertise? Tell me what worked for you. I am aware that every business is different and what worked for you may not work for me, but I just need some fresh ideas because it's really kind of hard to market while being on deployment in the middle of the ocean. Thank in advance! any advice is welcome!

lots of eye candy and clickies.

...I now realize that wasn't overly helpful. Here's a solid set of resources created by the hosting company I use. I've employed most of their suggestions quite successfully. Check the frame right for the social media articles.

Hopefully that helps!

Thanks... This does help. How do you like Photobiz.com? I already have a website but haven't had a chance to use it with clients. As you can see I'm fairly new at the business side. Also my internet access is limit due to my deployment. I'm just trying to get my name out there....
I also took a look at your website. I really like your work. I made a comment a few days ago on your facebook page. Thanks for the inspiring photos!

Photobiz is amazing!

They have great customer service. Whenever I have had a problem, they call and take care of it. I missed their calls a few times, but they made the effort to call me back until they were able to reach me and make sure everything was working well.

I love them!

And they have great templates! It makes the whole process so much easier.

As far as reaching people, try joining groups on facebook for the military community. I have been able to connect with the other military wives and show them my work. And they spread word like nobodies business,

From what I see Photobiz is perfect but I'm kind of confuse about the pricing. I probably wouldn't bother to set anything up until I get home because the internet sucks out here...lol

I've been trying to do a little marketing out here. The only tools I have access to is Facebook and my blog. Military community... that's a great idea! I think I'm going to take your advice. Thanks!

Don't forget when you get back and settled. Approach the local daily and weekly newspapers in your area and see if they'll do a new business story on ya. "Free advertising!"

what they said above about photobiz. You have one-time set up fees depending on the options you select, and then a monthly maintainence fee which you can change up or down depending what you have going on. cheapest is $15 a month i think.

customer service is out of this world.
