compensation for first assistant job?

I emailed a local photog looking for a job maybe as an assistant. I'm a brand spanking newbie, and I mentioned that I don't have job experience in the field. She asked for my resume and compensation. I have no clue what assistants make...especially new, non experienced ones! Any thoughts? Hoping to give her a response asap, so quick comments would be appreciated! Thanks!

Assistants usually get a day rate, which varies based on your location. For someone with no experience, I'd expect to be in the $175/day range, depending on what you're actually doing. If you're in Miami, then you're probably looking at a little bit more than that.
